Superintendent Joshua Starr’s first spring forum—devoted to the topic of English Language learners—is coming up on March 12 at Kennedy High School. Dr. Starr is holding four forums this spring that will delve into areas of interest to MCPS parents, staff, and community members. Each forum will provide an opportunity for attendees to hear about the latest trends and research, find out what’s happening in our schools, and share thoughts with the superintendent, guest panelists, and other participants. The format of each meeting will be similar and will include a brief panel presentation followed by small-group discussions. All forums will be held from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. The complete schedule for the forums is as follows:
- Monday, March 12, John F. Kennedy High School—English Language Learners
- Thursday, March 22, Col. Zadok Magruder High School—Gifted Education
- Monday, April 16, Seneca Valley High School—Special Education
- Thursday, May 10, Walt Whitman High School—Social and Emotional Learning
