Help Get Twinbrook Ready for the New School Year! Cleaning Days and Folder Stuffing

Twinbrook PTA Clean Up Days 2014

Cleaning days: Wednesday, August 13, 12pm-3pm and August 18, 9am-12pm
Limited child care available on August 13!

Twinbrook teachers and staff need your help preparing their classrooms for the school year.  The classrooms need a final dusting to make them sparkle before students return on August 25.  This is a wonderful opportunity to meet Twinbrook teaching staff, welcome new teachers to our school, and help your child start the school year.

Construction crews tackled two projects this summer: replacing the ceiling tiles and lighting fixtures throughout the school, and updating the bathroom fixtures.  School facilities staff and the construction crews have cleaned the debris, shined the floors and scrubbed the cabinets, but some dust has settled after the initial cleanup. Twinbrook staff will provide cleaning supplies.

We welcome parents, adults and high school students (this is eligible to earn SSL hours). Because school facilities staff may be moving furniture through the hallways, please keep your school-aged children at home or drop them off (for free!) at the Twinbrook Recreation Center during the Wednesday, August 13 Cleaning Day. See details below.

FREE Childcare Available on August 13!
Thanks to the City of Rockville and the Twinbrook Recreation Center, free childcare will be available for children (K through 5th grade) on Wednesday, August 13 from 12 to 3 pm. A limited number of slots are available and advance registration is required by August 8. No walk-ins, please. Drop off your child(ren) at the Twinbrook Recreation Center for games, crafts and fun with the talented Rec Center staff.

You can register at Sign-Up Genius for the clean up and the childcare:, or email

Homework FolderHomework Folder stuffing: Wednesday, August 20, 7pm-8pm

Here’s another important way volunteers can pitch in! Help the PTA prepare homework folders for the 2014-2015 school year. We need volunteers to put forms, flyers, and cover sheets in the folders our students use for homework and messages. Again, students in need of SSL hours are welcome. Email or sign up at Sign Up Genius:
